Terms of Service

The short version. Harmonic is a desktop app you install on your own Mac. You're responsible for your own code, your own Anthropic API costs, and reviewing what the AI suggests before you ship it. We provide the app as-is; we update it via the built-in auto-updater. Don't use it for anything illegal. If you don't agree with these terms, don't install it.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Harmonic ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

2. The Software

Harmonic is a Mac application that runs Claude Code sessions in parallel across your local git repositories. It runs entirely on your machine. It connects to third-party services (notably the Anthropic API and GitHub) on your behalf using credentials you supply.

3. License

Subject to these terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Harmonic on devices you own or control. You may not redistribute the Software, reverse-engineer its update-signing mechanism, or remove copyright notices.

4. Your responsibilities

Your code is your code. Harmonic does not transmit, store, or process the contents of your repositories on our servers. Anything you send to Anthropic via the app is governed by Anthropic's own terms and privacy policy.
Your API costs are yours. Harmonic uses your Anthropic credentials to make API calls. You are responsible for any usage charges Anthropic bills you. Harmonic is not a reseller of API access.
Review before you ship. AI-generated code can be wrong, insecure, or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing every change before merging or deploying it.
Don't use Harmonic to do anything illegal, to harm others, to violate Anthropic's or GitHub's terms, or to generate malware, harassment, or content that violates the rights of others.

5. Third-party services

Harmonic interoperates with third-party services that have their own terms. Your use of those services through Harmonic is also governed by their terms:

6. Updates

Harmonic includes an auto-updater that checks for new versions periodically and offers them via a notification. By using the Software, you consent to the auto-updater fetching and verifying cryptographically signed updates from our distribution endpoint. You can decline any individual update at the prompt; declining repeatedly may leave you on a version that no longer receives security fixes.

7. Privacy

Our handling of analytics data is described in our Privacy Policy. In summary: anonymous usage counts only, never message content, opt-out in Settings → Privacy.

8. Disclaimers

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. AI OUTPUTS ARE NON-DETERMINISTIC AND MAY BE INCORRECT, BIASED, OR HARMFUL; YOU USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL HARMONIC OR ITS CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SOFTWARE.

10. Termination

You may stop using Harmonic at any time by uninstalling it. We may discontinue or modify the Software, the auto-update endpoint, or these terms at any time. If we materially change these terms, we will update the effective date and, where practical, notify users in the app.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Harmonic's developer is principally located, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
