Harmonic is a desktop application that lets you run multiple AI coding agents — such as Claude, Codex, and DeepSeek — in parallel across your projects, each in its own git worktree. The marketing website you're reading this on is harmonic.build. Questions about this policy: prithvi@harmonic.build.
The desktop app sends a small set of named, schema-controlled events. There is no autocapture and no session recording. The events are:
app.launch — when the app starts. Includes the app version.tab.created — when a new worktree tab is opened. Includes whether the branch was newly created.chat.message_sent — when you send a message. Includes the count of attachments and whether plan mode was on. Never includes the message itself.plan_mode.toggled — when you flip the plan-mode switch. Includes the new state (on/off).ship.clicked — when you click the Ship button. Includes which action was taken (commit / push / open PR).update.available and update.restart_clicked — when an auto-update is offered and accepted, so we can measure adoption.
Each event is associated with an anonymous, randomly-generated identifier created the first time
Harmonic launches and stored locally at ~/Harmonic/analytics-id. The identifier is never
derived from any account, email, or hardware information.
We use PostHog as our analytics processor, hosted on PostHog's US Cloud. PostHog receives the events we send, stores them, and provides us a dashboard for analysis. PostHog's own privacy policy applies to their handling of the data: https://posthog.com/privacy.
To answer questions like: which features are actually used, are auto-updates being adopted, where do new users drop off in onboarding. We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for advertising or any other purpose. The only third party is PostHog, acting as our data processor.
Anonymous event data is retained for as long as it remains useful for product analysis, subject to
PostHog's data retention defaults. You can request deletion of all data associated with your
anonymous identifier at any time by emailing prithvi@harmonic.build
with your identifier (find it at ~/Harmonic/analytics-id).

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where practical, notify users in the app. The current version is always the canonical one.
